Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her professional name Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter born in Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's remark. Later in the season, the music was circulating around Dreamville. It was announced on the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. She released Pho, her debut EP on Oct 21, 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017 and also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. Also, she was featured on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. On the 9th November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 13, she dropped two singles titled The No One as well as Pedigree. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and made the track available in a solo version on the album she released her debut. The track was accompanied by a music video on February 20 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within the first week. In December 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
